William (Bill) was born January 31, 1934, In Freeport, Illinois, to the parents of James and Erma (Elliott) Simpson.
He attended schools in Savanna, Illionois and in 1951 joined the U.S. Navy and served 3.7 years in the Korean War. He also served 3 years in the Iowa Army National Guard before coming to Florida.
He married Nancy Seeser of Clinton, Iowa in 1956. In moving to Clinton, he worked 17 years for E.I. DuPont as an Industrial Mechanic.
Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and traveling.
He and Nancy moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1978. He worked for several compaines as an Industrial Mechanic.
He was baptized in 1948 at Community Church, Savanna, Illinois and was a Lutheran for a number of years and then enjoyed being a member of Bible Presbyterian Church in Lakeland.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy, of 60 years.
Bill is survived by his children, Gary Simpson, Brian Simpson, and Deborah LaFluer of Lakeland, Florida, and James Simpson Ostendorf of Savannah, Illinois. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Tina, Kyle, Bobbie, Zack, and Alyssa, and four great grandchildren.
The service time for William Elliott Simpson , we will be having a short farewell service, graveside, Saturday 9-2-2023 @ 11 am , Bible Presbyterian Church 5635 N Daughtery rd. Lakeland, FL. 33809.
