Paola Anne Verduci, 71, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lakeland, Florida on June 9th. She was preceded in death by her father, Pasquale Verduci, mother, Catherine Saum, stepfather, Robert Saum, uncle, Dominic Britti, and brother-in-law, Bob Wandras. She is survived by sisters Mindy Verduci and Johanna (Mike) Castle; brothers Alex (Valerie) Verduci, Sam (Barb) Verduci, and John (Joni) Saum; uncle Anthony (Nirmalah) Britti and aunt Mary Ann (Harry) Grandinett as well as nieces and nephews Phillip, Lindy, Laura, Ryan, Claire, Emily and Anna. She will be especially remembered by her longtime friend Andrea Gordon.
Paola graduated from the University of Maryland and worked for the K-mart Corporation for many years in Hagerstown before accepting an accounting position with Lockheed Martin in Clarksburg, MD. Paola relocated to Florida with the company in 2005 and retired from Lockheed Martin in 2017.
Paola enjoyed going out with her friends and attending social gatherings, attending events at local theaters, culinary cuisine, and other activities in her community. She was an avid Mah Jongg player and took classes through the Publix Aprons Cooking School. A favorite day destination was Bok Towers with its beautiful gardens and ringing of the carillon bells. Paola cherished her friends and the times they spent together.
Paola was loved and respected by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed and her memory will live forever in our hearts.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. A celebration of Paola’s life is being planned and details will be released in the near future.
