Obituary

Matthew Parker Rogers went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 15, 2023, due to injuries from an auto accident. He was born at Lakeland Regional Hospital on June 2, 1978.

He graduated from George Jenkins High School and attended Polk Community College on a Scholarship from the Polk County Bar Association.

In his youth he attended Ardella Baptist Church and was very active in their Youth Ministry. Later, at First Baptist Church at the Mall, he was the co-editor of his Sunday School Class newsletter.

He was the night auditor at the Suburban Extended Stay  Hotel.

Matt will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his winning personality, sense of humor, generosity, and love of people. He never met a stranger. He always treated people the way he wanted to be treated.

He is survived by his mother, Pat Edleman, sisters Kat Norris, Stacy Rowell and her husband Mark, brother Scott Norris, and lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Rogers and his step father Bill Edleman. There will not be a memorial service. Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory.
