Mary Martha Gerlach

Mary Martha Gerlach,73,passed away in Lakeland, Florida on October 19,2022,having received last rites of the holy Catholic Church. She was born February 22,1949, in Buffalo, New York to Bernard and Rose Gerlach. Mary graduated from Kensington High School in Buffalo in 1966. She was active as a varsity cheerleader and pursued a secretarial course of study. She moved to Florida in the 1970's and continued her career with various companies as an administrative assistant, Executive secretary , department manager and Vice President of Import/Export.

Mary loved to travel and spend time visiting loved ones. The years spent in South Florida with dear friends Karen Dunn and Kathy Lagonergo left her with lifelong friendships and some of her best memories. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents Bernard and Rose Gerlach, her brothers; Bernard (Butch), Robert ,and Joseph Gerlach. 

Mary is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, as well as  friends and neighbors who will miss her kindness, mischievous whit and welcoming smile. 

A local visitation and memorial service will be held November 1,2022 at David Russell Funeral Home in Lakeland, Florida. 

A memorial service in New York will be held at a later date in the summer of 2023 at Allegheny State Park, NY.
