Jim Marion O'Steen, a Lakeland native, has gone to his heavenly home on April 4, 2018.
As a lifelong resident of Lakeland, Jim graduated from Kathleen High School and was soon drafted into the United States Army thereafter.
Once he returned home from the military, he had various occupations but the one he enjoyed the most was his job as a Recreation Manager at Lake Arbuckle, in Frostproof, Florida.
Jim is preceded in his death by his sisters, Avie Baker, Effie Sands, Margie Douglas, and Eunice Parker all of Lakeland, Florida. Also preceding his death are his brothers, Lewis O'Steen, Devare O'Steen, of Lakeland, Florida.
Jim is survived by his brother Hosie O'Steen of Lakeland, Florida. He is also survived by his daughter, Jacquline Byrd (Keystone Heights, Florida). Jim has one granddaughter, Angelyca Langley (Keystone Heights), 2 greatgrandchildren (Keystone Heights) and 15 nieces and 11 nephews (Lakeland, Florida).
Jim was best known for his intelligence, his whit, and his ability to relate to all types of people. He has never met a stranger. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will host a celebration of life at the currently scheduled family reunion on April 14, 2018 at Duff Road Park in Lakeland, Florida @ 11:30a.m.
