Jemenique Marie Escalera-Fleetwood

Jemenique “Jem” Marie Escalera-Fleetwood was born on October 26, 1989 to Enrique Escalera Jr., and Margie M. Rosado in Manhattan, New York. She entered into rest on September 15, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida.

Jem moved to Florida from New York City approximately a year and a half ago to fulfill her lifelong dream to live in the Sunshine State.

Jemenique leaves behind her Husband, Ramien Fleetwood and their two year old daughter, Jelena Fleetwood.

She is survived by her mother and father, her brother, Anthony Escalera and his wife Melissa, four neices and nephews, Lyndsey, Ayden, Jaycob, and Aryanna all of Lakeland. Additionally, she is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

“Jem” as she is fondly called by family and friends, will always be remembered for her love for her family, and her love for singing and dancing. While she loved to sing and dance she also enjoyed reading, cooking, and traveling. In additionally, Jem truly enjoyed her Disney movies, Ariel was her favorite Disney Princess.

Jem spent the last five and a half years fighting. She was a mighty warrior (like the mighty Pink Power Ranger) to some and a trooper to others, but to all of her friends and family she was a hero.

Jem was not afraid to live life to the fullest.

Jem will be missed by all who loved her and knew her.
