Beverly Ortiz

Beverly “Bree” Ortiz, 28, passed away suddenly during the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020.

Bree as she preferred to be called was a vibrant young woman who was full of life.  She lived a beautiful childhood in the small town of Perth Amboy, NJ where she was cared for and nurtured by her maternal family. In Bree’s adolescent years she was relocated to the New Tampa area along with her sister. It was in Bree’s adult life that she found refuge by the water, settling in the Clearwater,St. Petersburg area of Florida.

Bree was a striking beauty and yet it was her wit that often made her stand out in a crowd. She loved to sing, enjoyed the nightlife and wasn't scared to make friends with her winning personality and perfect smile. Bree was a cat lover, a witty comic and a great friend. She was full of courage, compassion and laughs.

She was employed by a Cracker Barrel Restaurant located in Largo, FL where she was a devoted employee.  Bree enjoyed what she called, “the kitchen life” and was quick to share funny anecdotes from her experiences in the work she so loved.

Bree’s sister and constant in her life, Kaysie Cartagena, will forever miss her little sister.  Kaysie and Bree were thick as thieves and fortunate enough to have each other in a world with people who can be unkind at times.

Beverly Hunter Ortiz will be dearly and forever missed by; her mother, Carmen Feliciano, her sister Kaysie Cartagena, her brothers Emanuel and Robert Jr., her children, Rylee and Angel, her nephews Kristopher and Antony, her niece, Isabella, her grandmother Maria Feliciano, her aunts, Yashira, Elizabeth and Margarita, her uncles, Jose, Javier and Josue and many many loving cousins.

A non-religious celebration of Brees’ life will take place in her hometown of Perth Amboy, NJ and will be attended by those who made a significant contribution of love in her life.  

Bree departed too soon, 28 years could never be enough, she leaves us forever young. May she be one with the universe forever and ever.
