Shawn Douglas Wheelis

Shawn Douglas Wheelis was born in Lakeland, Florida to Leonard and Carolyn Wheelis on March 13, 1973.  He entered into his final rest on December 28, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida.

Shawn is preceded in his passing by his father.

He is succeeded in his passing by his mother, Carolyn Gay (Mulberry) and his sister Selina Wilson (Tracy) of (Mulberry).

Shawn could be seen anywhere fixing random bicycles for any of the neighborhood children and never asking for any financial compensation, he simply helped because he had a gift to fix things and to help others.  Shawn had a large heart and a willingness to help others in need.

Shawn was an avid fisherman with his most recent catch being the 6 pound bass he caught in the pond right outside his mother's home.

Shawn was a great all around person, he gave all he could to everyone he could with whatever he could.

Shawn is now with his heavenly father and will be missed by all here on earth.

A celebration of Life is being held at Whidden  Park 701 NW 3rd Street Mulberry, Florida 33860 from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

The time has come to go to his Heavenly home

To a land of Peace to never more Rome.

He was taken from us at the young age of Forty Five

He did what he liked to do and enjoyed being alive.

One thing in Life he really did like

Was mending and fixing any old Bike.

Fixing them up to maybe just give it away

Made him Happy at the end of the Day.

He had many friends as he traveled about

If they needed Help all they did was call out.

Helping others is something he really liked to do

One of them could have even been you.

Dumpster diving as a Hobby, what can we say

Finding maybe a Treasure someone threw away.

One of his Joys was getting to fish

To catch a big one was his big Wish.

Near the end God helped his dream come true

With a Six pound Bass caught under a Sky of Blue.

We never know when our time will come to die

So let us celebrate with Love as we all tell him Good Buy.

He will be missed by Family and Friends here

But remember the Good times of one so Dear.
