Richard (Ric) Harvey, 66, of Lakeland, FL, went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2017, due to complications with leukemia.

He was born March11, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent most of his early life in Ohio, where he met his wife, A.J., in 1987. Raised in the Jewish faith, he converted to Christianity and was baptized on February 17, 2002. He was a member of New Horizons Baptist Church.

Ric enjoyed driving for several companies over the last 40 years, until his retirement in 2014. He was an avid animal lover, Star Trek enthusiast, lover of football (Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes) and WWE wrestling, and had an extensive collection of eagle statues. His bucket list included jumping out of a perfectly good airplane (free-fall Skydiving), which he fulfilled on March 11, 2017. He also enjoyed helping others using his knowledge and skills in woodworking, electrical, plumbing, or any other handyman tasks. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Sophia Harvey; survived by his wife- A.J., daughter - Amber, son - Chad (Candice), and granddaughters - Chloe and Caycee, and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Horizons Baptist Church, 11930 U.S. Hwy 98 N., Lakeland,  FL 33809, with Pastor Jesse Pearson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Lakeland in Ric's name. Condolences may be sent to the family at davidrussellfuneralhome.com.
