Shirley Ann Spencer Sharer stepped quietly into eternity and into the arms of her Savior on June 8, 2016. Waiting at the gate of Heaven to meet her was her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Ronald Sharer, as well as her parents, Theodore and Agnes Spencer, and her in-laws, James and Myrtle Augurson. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Bodie, her beloved children, Diana Jones, Jeffrey (Deirdra) Sharer and Laurie (Thomas) Cassidy.  She also leaves her greatly loved grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Joshua, Samuel, Hannah Jones, Ashley (Jake) Johns, Eden (Caleb) Sharer, Taylor, Breanna, and Alexis Sharer, Jessica (Justin), Ryan (Kasey) and Zachariah Jones, Thomas and Ambria Cassidy. She also adored her great grandchildren, Joshua, Cheyanne, Garison, Ryan, Rylee, Caden, Layla, Brooke, Logan, and Alan. And she now has a sneak preview of the two precious babies that are on their way. She also leaves a large extended family of in-laws, as well as many nieces and nephews.

 Shirley was born and raised in Endicott, New York. The wife of a Marine, she dutifully moved her family around as the military dictated. When Ron retired from the Marines, she very happily got to settle down in Lakeland, Florida. She worked for many years at Raybro Electric and retired from there in the 80’s. She was active in her church, The Church of the Mall, and an active volunteer with Compassion House. Shirley was a wonderful wife and mother, a wonderful grandmother, a wonderful sister, aunt, and friend. We mourn our loss but we rejoice knowing she is with the one who loved her best and whom she served so faithfully. Viewing will be Sunday at David Russell Funeral Home, from 6-8 with a short memorial service to follow. Burial service will be at Bushnell National Cemetery, Monday at 2:00pm.
