Melvin Wesley Dow, a.k.a M.W, Bud. Born September 2, 1925. Parents settled in Lakeland from Kansas in the mid 1910's. Played quarterback for the The Lakeland Dreadnaughts in the early 40's. Shipped off to boot camp before graduation. An O.R. technician in World War II, returned to the states as a Pharmacist Mate 3rd class, started working in the family furniture business. Turned to construction where he did time setting and plastering. Then turned to stucco and simulated brick in the early 50's. Was considered the best by many of the top builder's around by reputation until he retired in 1996 at the age of 70. And had trophies to show that he played golf as hard as he worked. M.W. was proceeded in death by Hazel Vernell Dow in 2006. And is survived by one son, David Wesley Dow, one daughter, Hazel Lynn Edwards, and one grandson, John Burrell Walker.
