Esther Rachel Ahonen

passed away on June 9, 2017, after battling various lung diseases for many years.  She died peacefully in her sleep, at home, exactly as she would have wanted.  She was born in Maine, and lived many places; she spent the last 15 years living in Lakeland, FL, where her children and grandchildren all live.  The last 8 months of her life she was very ill, and struggled to breathe and to eat.  She is now resting with Jesus, breathing easily. 

Esther leaves behind her mother, Lilly, her 4 sisters, Lisa, Rebecca, Caroline, and Miriam, her 2 children, Linden and Carl, and her 4 grandchildren, McKaelyn, Lincoln, AJ, and Aubrey.  There is nothing Esther loved more than being a grandmother, and since the day McKaelyn was born, she put all of her energy into her grandchildren and fighting her illness to have as many days with them as possible.  There will be a memorial service for her Tuesday, June 13 at 11:30 am, at the First Alliance Church on Edgewood.
