Mr. Donald Robert Miller, age 89, went to be with Jesus Sunday, November 15, 2015. Born in Meadville, PA, on March 10, 1926, son of Wallace and Hazel Miller, he moved to Hollywood, FL in 1954. He was a Quarter Master Third Class in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His last duty was in transporting Japanese prisoners back to their country. Mr. Miller was as Assistant V.P./ Loan Officer for Hollywood Federal Savings & Loan where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, church clerk, Sunday school teacher and director of the Senior Department. He also was on the construction of singing Christmas Tree and pageant presentations. After coming to Lakeland in 2001, he attended Scott Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dr. Darwin Miller and Richard Miller; son-in-law Wayne VanNote; and grandson Joshua Miller. He is survived by his wife Kay, children: Donna-Kay VanNote, Bradford Miller & (Maria), Toni Kitchens & (Gator), seven grandchildren: Dixie-Lynn Kruelen & (Scott), Janeesa Price (Garret), Sheana & Krista Miller, Connor, Courtney and Garrett Kitchens, great grandchildren: Addison and Abigail Kreulen, Everett & Rockford Price.
